| Dr Fannon Lim received his Ph.D. and B. Eng. (1st class honours) degrees from the University of Glasgow in 2003 and 1999 respectively. He was awarded the A*STAR International Fellowship (S'pore), EPSRC (UK), Nestlé (UK) and Faculty of Engineering (UK) scholarships for his studies. Fannon also received the IMechE James Bates Prize and the Brown Prize in Engineering in 1999, and the Silver Award in the Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors' Award in 1995.
Prior to joining Solar Research, Fannon was an Assistant Vice President in Exploit Technologies, where he managed a fund to bridge A*STAR's technologies from lab-scale to a commercially viable one. Before that, Fannon was a scientist in the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech). Then, he held appointments as the chairman of MTA2005 conference, local arrangement chair of INDIN '06 conference, and in the Singapore Quality Class (SQC) committee.
His interest in entrepreneurship and green energy has led him to join Solar Research as a Chief Operating Officer, and heading the Asia HQ of Luna Road in Singapore.
